As motorcycle-loving visual artists living in Laguna Beach, Dana and Michael didn't want anything traditional for their December wedding. Inspired by Burning Man, they decided to fly to Thailand to have the non-traditional wedding of their dreams - complete with the bridal party in paper elephant heads!

In August 2018, my partner Gilles Bonugli and I were married at Burning Man which had been an important part of our relationship from the beginning. Gilles is a French visual artist and photographer, and I'm a Jamaican born fashion designer who grew up in New York. We first met at a Burner party in NYC back in 2015, and I fell in love with Gilles' Burning Man photography which captured the immense beauty of Black Rock City.

There was a bit of a problem when I received Neysa and Kevin's wedding submission. I was convinced they couldn't be real people. I mean, have you ever seen a couple so attractive in your entire life? Add that to the fact that they probably had one of the coolest weddings I've ever seen and I was 100% convinced that this must be some kind of staged shoot.

Stand by and prepare to flip out over this incredible Burning Man wedding. It wins EVERYTHING. The day was the truest expression of love. There were no flowers, centrepieces, stationery or cake. They had the ceremony at the Heart Phoenix Art Car by the Embrace Sculpture with 500 people looking on.
