No, it’s not a magic trick - this color discrepancy happens because at most angles of light that we can see, all colors in the spectrum are absorbed except blue, which is reflected, making it appear that color. As if that isn’t trippy enough, this butterfly is actually a mosaic gynandromorph – an anomaly in which male and female cells are mixed together!
