Biewer Yorkies are a small breed of terriers that originated in Germany and were bred to resemble a miniature Yorkie. They have long, silky hair with a wavy to curly coat that comes in colors such as black, white, silver, or brown. Its distinctive tri-colored coat is due to the Piebald genetic recessive gene of two Yorkie Terriers.

The Biewer Terrier is an extremely fun dog to have at home. These tiny pups only weigh between 4-8 pounds, but they are super playful and energetic. Don’t be surprised when you see your little doggo doing zoomies around the house. Interestingly, these dogs were bred from two Yorkshire Terriers through a recessive piebald gene. This means that if two piebald carriers are bred, there is still only a 25% chance that the offspring would have the trait.
