Laura Siddell | LS POTTERY on Instagram: "When I was first learning, centring was the HARDEST part. I would watch video after video of other potters and watch their hands as they centred. Learning from watching and then trying over and over again. Hope this video helps even one person get a hang of centring their clay. It’s the most important part and lays the foundation to create a uniform vessel on the wheel. 🤎 #iliketoplaywithclay #handmade #handmadepottery #pottery #wheelthrown #mug #mugshot #clayart #claylove #wheelthrowing #trimmingpottery #trimming #wheelthrownpottery #wheelthrownceramics #wheelthrowing #ihavethisthingwithceramics #potterylove #potteryistic #potteryofinstagram #instapottery #ceramiclife #potterylife #ceramics #ceramik #centring #centering #centreclay #centerclay How To Throw A Mug On The Wheel, Throwing A Mug On The Wheel, How To Center Clay On Wheel, Throwing Clay Pottery Wheel, Pottery Videos Wheel, Throwing Pottery Videos, Centering Clay Pottery Wheel, Pottery On The Wheel, Pottery Centering

Lianne • Studio LP Ceramics • UK based but worldwide shipping on Instagram: "Throwing curved forms consistently was always a challenge for me and usually meant I had a lot of trimming to get the curve right. So I designed a set of profile ribs, and here I’m using Rib B which I think is my favourite, to create a gentle curved mug form. It’s so easy to go from a cylinder to a curve, I went from ball of clay to taking this off the wheel in less than 5 minutes. Are you into curved mugs or do you prefer a traditional straight sided, or maybe you want even more curvy huggable mugs?! Also- did you notice the ribs have changed colour, they are now an even more bright and vibrant mint. I love this colour so much! #potteryvideos #potterytools #potterylife #pottersofinstagram #potterswheel #pot Pottery Trimming Tools, Easy Pottery Throwing Ideas, How To Throw A Mug On The Wheel, Cylinder Pottery Ideas, Pottery Videos, Pottery Tools, Pottery Techniques, Thrown Pottery, Potters Wheel

What do you struggle most with when throwing on the potters wheel? I remember when I first started I struggled a lot with centering the clay as well as feeling like I had full control over what I was making - a lot of the time I felt like the clay was deciding what shape it was going to be rather than me! Honey jar, spices, coffee grounds, tea bags, sugar...how do you use a jar in your home? This is how I like to create my gallery on a wheel thrown jar base. Until I got the perfect @diamondcoretools trimming tool, that just so happened to have this squared off end, I used a generic wood tool with the rounded back and it did the job wonderfully! This fun guy is thrown using @kentuckymudworks Brown Bear Clay (my fav fav), on my gorgeous @hartleyandnoble batt system which sits beautifully over my @speedball_ceramics wheel 😍 and of course, the gallery is created with the versatile T102 trimming tool from @diamondcoretools Let me know if you have any que Pottery Wheel Creations, Throwing Lidded Jars, How To Throw A Lidded Jar, Throwing A Cylinder On The Wheel, How To Throw A Mug On The Wheel, Ceramics On The Wheel, Ceramic Tea Bag Holder, Throwing Wheel Pottery, Beginner Wheel Throwing Ideas
