First Look: New Pinarello Dogma XC Race Bike for Pidcock and PFP
While we all sit in our moral biker "core" bunker of what good is and what's good for the sport. We seem to be missing the obvious here. I don't believe Pinarello are trying to sell units of this bike, they're doing it because they sponsor/partner with one of the most successful cycling teams of all time. PFP and Pidders win stuff and they're missing out on brand coverage worth way more than the cost of developing a bike. Maybe its a rush job, less inspired than it could be but its a commercial decision in my mind rather than giving BMC amazing free promotion

The whole package nonsense has really annoyed me. Why did they do 2 eliminations on physical challenges sending 2 decent competitors home if athleticism is only half the story. The comment from Gully " the race roster is pretty full right now" tells me they want a brand ambassador this year not a racer. As other have said previous winners (near winners) have gone on to do really well at EWS but I think it loses Orbea money. They want a stay at home ambassador that pays for themself. I wanted this to be a platform for struggling racers to get their big break (like PBR), yes it's about money blah blah blah but I don't want to see people complete to be an influencer they can do that without the support.

Video: Tom Pidcock Hits 100km/h as he Takes Tour de France Stage Win
This quote from a roadie publications says it all “ He was visibly using his bike as a tool - on some bends his body would remain still, but he’d lean the bike more; sometimes his arms would swing his bike one way, and then the other. He worked with the road and the descent: the angle of lean always perfectly matched the tightness of the bend, and at no point did it ever look as if he could fall off.” YESS THATS HOW YOU CORNER AN MTB. Yet no mention of his bmx - I mean mtb- background to be seen.

They even said in the first episode that it was about where to spend your money so that it makes a difference. It was fun but I'd much rather find out, should I get a tuned Yari or a Lyrik ultimate, 4 pot deore barkes v XT/XTR/Saint, have 1 set of tyres all year or multiple sets for different conditions .

Today I watched for how hard a slap the rear mech took and how much chain 'wave' there was and how close the chain was to coming off. I didn't think it would be so varied.

Video: Manon Carpenter Explores How Secure the UK's Trails Are in ‘Trails on Trial’
England has a problem with Ownership and then liability. The idea that all land needs to be owned goes back to the doomsday book, and there are varying historical accounts of how the country was split up and owned - if you research this one common theme is that the elite did well out of this. From there mountains, forests and rivers were owned?! And if you think we have it tough speak to the canoe/kayak community. Generations later land has changed hands and people who actually paid for the land feel they own it. I get that, i feel like I own the land my house is on and if someone trespassed I'd kick them off. The question of whether a mountain can be owned never comes up because we can't un-pick what happened. Luckily we now have national parks, and organisations that look after large rural areas which gives us access to some of these place. Once ownership is established liability comes quickly after, while a small number of people are using your land you can turn a blind eye when hundreds come your risk of financial ruin goes up and you cant ignore it and are obliged to stop them. If I could decide what happens, it's not simple, but I would happily pay for a mountain bike licence (like a fishing rod licence) if i knew the money was going to trail building organisations and there were earmarked areas I was free to explore and ride up and down the country. That could also be localised e.g you pay for access to a particular trail area for the day/month/year. I also like the idea of freeride zones (like in ski resorts) you can ride and build here but you're on you own legally. The worst case for me is what comes next after liability - which is insurance.

We’ll that episode was pointless, bring in the previous weeks results and a subjective task means they can hand pick who goes through. As if those weren’t going to be the top 4 whatever videos they produced. I think flo is great but her video was so cringe I could hardly watch
