First Ride: The 2025 Specialized Stumpjumper Has a New Dual Chamber Air Shock
55mm chain line bikes work worse than 52mm. The small amount more cross chaining has noticeable amounts more vibration and friction. I’ve swapped back to 52mm on all by bikes and it’s a breath of fresh air from the first pedal stroke.

OneUp Announces New Hubs
These look amazing on paper, really hope they prove to be that good in the real world. That rubber seal on the freehub is draggy, I’d rather have a tighter tolerance and labyrinth like DT. Oneup stuff is known to be a bit out of spec too so we will see if these hold up and everything fits consistently.

Pinkbike Poll: Are XC Courses Getting Too Gnarly?
It’s close to the ideal amount of ideal technical challenge for a WC course. The course does seems to be poorly built, berms made of raked leaves and pinecones, transitions missing, log landings. Could go bigger yet with slightly better trail building.

Bontrager Releases New High-Flow Tubeless Valve
These new high flow valves aren’t really better than standard presta. Presta you can clean or replace the core easily or remove the core for more airflow. With the Reserve Fillmore valves I’ve had them clog right where the rubber seal is and to stop air leaking you have to remove the tire and clean the valve out. Heard others having the same problem with leaking clogged valves. The Fillmore also really need the stock valve cap or they can easily get bumped and release a ton of pressure. Regular tube valve covers don’t work so don’t loose your one set.

First Look: Vorsprung's New Telum Coil Shock
Had a Sprindex, grey plastic piece wouldn’t stay tight and the thing rattled like crazy. Good idea but poor execution on the design/materials.

Review: Knolly Chilcotin 170 - They Haven't Just Straightened the Top Tube
@ohio: we are talking about the Chilcotin (way too long) not the Endorphin pretty (standard reach). It’s like we are living two decades in the past with ETT and adjusting stem lengths for fit are still a thing. Stem lengths are for adjusting handling/steering balance. Reach (balanced with CS length, stack) is for length of front center depending on a riders size, riding style and weight bias. This is why adjustable reach on bikes is the future. Most DH pros have been playing with this forever and you can see most DH, XC and Enduro pros choosing to run much shorter reach bikes than is being sold to people these days (downsizing). Calling out Knolly for not really understanding geometry isn’t a new or hot take.

Review: Knolly Chilcotin 170 - They Haven't Just Straightened the Top Tube
@ohio: I’m saying Knolly is designing bikes FOR noobs. Or people who don’t ride to a high level without being tall enough to massively downsize like Henry did in this review. If you want to feel what it’s like riding a bike that’s too long just upsize and slam the saddle as forward as possible. That’ll be close to how it feels. Stable but awkward.

Review: Knolly Chilcotin 170 - They Haven't Just Straightened the Top Tube
@Noelbuckley: sizing by ETT only is really highlighting the lack of understanding about bike sizing and the noob bias of the designs. Sliding the saddle forward and backward relative to everything else (seat tube angle) only matters when in the saddle climbing. These bikes are meant to be ridden dynamically with the saddle dropped well out of the way. A riders feet while standing is the center of the bike and the CS/reach/stack balance is absolutely critical. Have a look at what Atherton is doing as they are moving in the correct direction.

Review: Knolly Chilcotin 170 - They Haven't Just Straightened the Top Tube
Knolly now making 4 size large bikes lol. Obviously riding a massive wheelbase bike is more stable but nobody under 175cm will be able to ride these things correctly.

Juin's 6 Piston Semi-Hydraulic Brakes - Taipei Cycle Show 2024
@bman33: when talking about bike cables they do not stretch. They are so much stronger than the housing, you can see the ferrule pulling the housing apart when changing out your cables and housing. This is why you have to tighten the system over time.
