Pinkbike Poll: Should Downhill Bikes Have More Than 200 Millimeters of Travel?
@VorsprungSuspension: i’m coming to the conclusion that the 200 mm “limit” is probably due to the geometry problem then. for example, the more travel you have, the higher your BB has to be at sag, which is generally an undesirable trait.
probably anything more than 200-220 mm of travel results in wacky geo to avoid dragging chainrings at bottom out or front wheel rub on your downtube.

Pinkbike Poll: Should Downhill Bikes Have More Than 200 Millimeters of Travel?
@VorsprungSuspension: how does progression play a part in this? if a rider has chosen a good spring rate and needs a few tokens to avoid bottoming out, what would the pros and cons be of switching to a more linear suspension with more travel?

First Ride: Aper Kompace - Now THAT's A High Pivot
if the front axle moves rearward on compression, wouldn't a forward moving rear axle path be desirable to maintain front-rear balance? seems like these high pivot bikes just throw you forward on big hits.
