Review: Zerode G3 - A Belt Driven, Gearbox Equipped DH Bike
Agreed. I have a Peregrine DH bike equipped with the 6 speed pinion and it is perfect for park laps. The weight and losses aren't an issue, at least for me, at the parks, and not worrying about derailleur maintenence is awesome.

Pinkbike Editors' Christmas 2023 Wish Lists
I've been riding moto and mtb with prescription glasses for years. Scott OTG goggles are the way to go. My most recent pair of prescription glasses are Oakley and that combo has been perfect. If you haven't looked into the OTG's, I couldn't recommend them more.

Randoms Part 2 - Red Bull Rampage 2023
I remember reading about a tear down process after rampage some years ago. I think a crew goes in and tries to remove the take offs and landings to keep amateurs from hiking up. It's been a while since I last saw it so I could be mis-remembering.

The Myotragus Dorothea is a 200mm High Pivot Bike With a Gearbox
@excavator666: I'm lucky enough to own a Peregrine dh bike. 6 speed pinion, high pivot moto link. It's a riot.

The Myotragus Dorothea is a 200mm High Pivot Bike With a Gearbox
@elitipton: Agreed. The gripshift is really sweet with a pinion. I would much rather have one than a trigger shifter as it would be much harder to dump gears quickly. With that said, there are after market trigger shifters available.

The Myotragus Dorothea is a 200mm High Pivot Bike With a Gearbox
@excavator666: This bike is clearly aimed at downhill, where pedaling is a minimum. As someone who owns a high pivot gearbox dh bike, the last thing I care about is drag. The suspension capabilities of this type of bike is by far the best aspect.

First Ride: Machina's Beautiful, Technologically Advanced Prototype was Fun While it Lasted
As an owner of a Pinion with a grip shift, it's not all that bad. I liken it to riding a motorcycle with a twist throttle. If you've done that, you're good. There's a bit of a learning curve of the shifting, just like someone starting out on a trigger shifter, but it's well worth trying before disregarding it all together.

Mountain Bikes Don’t Need to Be Complicated: 5 Places Where Less is More
@jkella: Pinion P12 on a Zerode Taniwha with the gates belt drive, and a Pinion P6 on a Peregrine dh bike that is running a chain (high pivot which uses an idler gear, so a belt isn't feasible).

Mountain Bikes Don’t Need to Be Complicated: 5 Places Where Less is More
A less is more article and no mention of gearboxes? I couldn't be more happy with ditching derailleurs. I never have to lube the belt and only have to change the oil in the box once a year, which is a 2 minute job. By far the biggest improvement for simplicity. I will now await my downvotes since pinkbike doesn't like gearboxes.
