@mrmm8900: Look, I began my comments as a reply to a British imperialist who was blaming the theft of Wibmer’s gear on the decline of European influence on South American governance. I poked the bear by suggesting that if Euros hadn’t invaded South America in the first place, there might not be the social problems existing there today. Sure, in Europe there were pretty paintings, savage religious wars, and some cool refinements of ancient Greek, Roman, and more contemporary Chinese and Arab inventions. This allowed Europeans within a few short centuries to turn the whole world into a European battlefield and eventually a marketplace for carbon E-bikes and Wibmer edits. We can argue moral relevance all day; however, despite how progressive the Euros thought of themselves, the Incas probably thought the Spanish were a bunch of assholes who enslaved them for gold and God. Final note about moral relevance: no one publicly uses the adjective “retarded” anymore. It dates your thinking.
