PRIZE DETAILS:

Parachute
The iconic MET Parachute is back! Weighing merely 700g (size medium), the Parachute is the lightest full face in the world certified to American ASTM F1952-2032 standards, the only authority which certifies full face bicycle helmets. Our integrated fixed chin guard is designed to offer maximum protection. Strong, lightweight and highly ventilated, the Parachute is ideal for Enduro, allowing you to tackle climbs and descents whilst wearing the same helmet. Packed with features, we’ve really thought of everything. Our Safe-T Advanced system allows you to fine tune the fit for optimum comfort and safety. The Homopathic Embedded Skeleton adds strength. The Gel 02 padding feels cool on your forehead and remains odour-free. Our rib system keeps your goggle strap in place. And our multi-brand compatible camera mount is easy to install and remove.

Lupo
Your all-mountain epic adventure begins with the Lupo. The perfect balance between aggressive styling, breathability and comfort. The Lupo gives great protection to the rear and sides of the head and is ideal for many hours in the saddle.

I think RedBurn was saying the helmets don't work.

This new one-piece Parachute actually has all the possible certifications that excist for full face helmets. I really wanted this helmet since they released it about a year ago, but first needed to finish my bike. Would be the perfect timing to win this now Smile

Yes Mattin, It can be noticed in the bike parks - some people do believe that those certificates make it even with D3 in terms of safety. I think it is equally intelligent crowd to those who hate Bell Super2 for lack of certification. So yes, natural selection is a wonderful thing! Please keep on racing Enduro and riding park in XC lids with jaw scratch protection.

A cert is better than Trust us, our helmet is safe.

Ah Waki, I hear you have your own special Helmet Testing Facility where you can test the helmets on safety? Or do you not have one? If not, your argument is even more invalid than you claim mine to be Wink

MET never claimed it is a downhill helmet; it is an enduro helmet. But it does meet all the full face certifications, which should be good as European safety certifications are usually pretty high standard. Thereby I trust this helmet to make a big difference when crashing (no helmet can safe you from everything).

Also you can't compare this certified one piece full face helmet to the lids you're talking about that have removable chin guards; there's a reason those helmets didn't meet the certifications.

Seems like you're having a hard time adapting to the idea that this helmet created a new category for itsself, filling the gap between downhill helmets and enduro lids. It's much better for climbing than a downhill helmet, but still offers you quite a bit extra protection compared to the enduro and xc lids that the potential buyers from this helmet are wearing.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sold to the idea Smile

I owned Giro Switchblade in the past and crashed in it on my face twice. No problem. I also bought Bell Super 2S. Riding for my own pleasure and protecting my beatiful face - yes! I would never use any of these in race mode on Enduro Competition and for the love of God, never in a bike park where high speeds are always on the tap. 6-7 years ago people were riding full body armor on any rockier trail, I remember myself wonderign whether to wear back protection. Now we ride them in XC lids and those worthless super thin knee guards. If someone trusts a certificate to make MET or Super 2 equal to a proper fullface then good luck. Natural selection will take care of you.

You know what would greatly improve safety on Enduro competitions? A 50g inflatable helmet for uphills and liasons so that people stop whining on weight of a 1kg fullface that actually does protect your head on a DH race. I have no clue why people see Enduro as some light form of Downhill while in most places in the world Enduro comps are held on same kind of tracks as DH comps. And then you ride. On 5-6" bike and last stages are often done being completely exhausted. What on Earth gives people that perception of safety?

I own the met parachute and have raced with it all this year. I can't speak for looks which are defo subjective but in terms of safety It is a solid helmet. I did a side to side comparison before buying it with my kali full face and a bell super 2r. In terms of rigidity the met was equal to the Kali. The super on the other hand had loads more flex especially on the chinguard. Coverage was pretty much equal on all 3. If I were to do downhill at a bike park I would probably use the Kali, but for enduro racing the met is perfect.

Enduro races are also held on the same sort of races as xc tracks. And xc races are also held on the same sort of tracks as downhill tracks. Enduro is considered some sort of light version of downhill because there are timed sections that are too pedally for a downhill bike. In the same way, xc races have sections that are too pedally for an enduro bike (the uphills).

I'm not going to disagree with you, but just point out that there is definetely good reason to say its a lighter form of downhill. You can only push yourself so much on a bike with 5" of travel and feel within your subjective level of comfort. I always wonder if they would do the same thing in enduro.

As bikes become more versatile, and more like downhill bikes, you're going to try to push harder, so in that sense, more protective equipment is a good thing. I personally struggle with whether or not I believe there should be bike races for certain types of bicycles. In other sports, equipment is regulated. The nba requires certain shoes. Track and field literally made javelins worse at flying because where they were landing was too dangerous. Cyclocross requires 35c tires at widest.
  • 1 3
Couldn't they do the same thing for enduro? They could have limited xc to 26" wheels and the tracks probably wouldn't look like they do today. Maybe enduro could say you aren't allowed to adjust your travel or you aren't allowed to have a dropper post, or something to that extent.

 2+2=5?
  • 11 5
 they may have forgot a complex number in there: 2 + 2 - j² = 5

sorry for those who didn't understand .. ^^
  • 2 2
Their number system starts counting at zero - so 2+2=5 and there are actually SIX helmets!

I bought a MET Parachute about 2 months ago for all my AM needs.... My TLD A1 is nothing but a dust collector now ..
  • 2 1
how is that even possible ?? A1 FTW, best helmet out there
  • 2 1
 I wasn't bashing my TLD A1....
I was just saying the NEW VERSION MET PARACHUTE is a 100% game changer for me.
First of all I think everyone should realize the MET Parachute IS NOT MEANT TO BE A DH HELMET !!!!!!! it's basically a XC/AM helmet with a DH certified non-removable chin bar....
I still wear my TLD D3 when I ride my big bike !!!!!!!!
but for AM/Enduro/XC the Parachute is INCREDIBLE...It's sooooo light I barely can tell i'm wearing a fullface, and it is vented very well too....I love having the extra face protection...SUPER COMFY TOO..

I have yet to wear mine on a super hot day,so I cant say It will be as incredible on those really hot and humid days?? but for me? I already know even if it is a tad hotter?? I will still be wearing my MET for the extra protection, since I don't get paid to ride, and a little extra heat is still worth the "A LOT of extra protection" to meSmile

IMO I think all manufacturers in the future are going to be making Full face helmets similar to the Parachute...no more looking like a dork with the goggles and half shell either Wink sorta

redman733 - I've had mine since they first came out, even on hot humid east coast days it's been perfectly comfortable.

Won't lie a tad hotter on slow climbs, but once your moving, it's actually cooler than some of the higher end 1/2 domes I've ridden.

Thing is, too many people don't think you can f up your face XC riding- all it takes is one mistake. The MET is perfect for everything up to DH. For that, I have a POC Cortex DH MIPS.
  • 3 2
That parachute is a sweet looking helmet! My level of DH riding is probably not up to the level of good Enduro boys so this would do for those warm summer months (alright I am in England, the warm summer hour we get)!
  • 3 0
Just saying but I drive a vw lupo and I always wear a helmet in my car for safety.
  • 2 1
Everyone needs a fullface helmet in the bikepark! I'm sad I can´t ride there Frown I don´t own a fullface helmet, but soon i might do...
Many hanks PB! And Merry Christmas!

If you wear Enduro-face helmet in a bike park with lift access you deserve a date with an ancient troll of the north called Knulla-munnen. If you use lift, then you may as well use a proper fullface helmet with stiff kevlar shell and loads of EPS foam.

Oh, i like that LUPO model more than IXS Trail helmet i want to buy. It will be nice to have this comf helmet to my allmoutain trips =)

Too cool PB hooks up with all the different companies so we all can be potential winners. My birthday today so hope I'm a winner of trick skid lids!!!

New parachute works, big face plant no memory of crash just concussion. Does a job
  • 3 4
I bought a parachute 4 years and face planted and then I retired it asap. The chin protector acts like a guillotine and when it is forced up it can cut off your nose. My injuries were caused more by the bad designed lid than the actual faceplate. If you win this lid I advise using it as an XC and hide the add on chin protector.
  • 4 2
You bought the old model. This is the new model, its very different.
  • 3 1
The chin bar on the new Parachute is not removable, so very different from the old model.
  • 4 3
I bought the new one. Was riding uphill with it strapped to my back pack. I dabbed on a tech section and fell back a little on a tree. I heard my helmet crunch and then had a gander. It had major cracks on both sides with pointy shards directed towards the eye location. There is absolutely no reinforcement to the chin bar. Got rid of it and then bought a Super R2 Bell. Way better. The shell is actually made of polycarbonate not Styrene or what ever crap the Parachute is made of. Also the chin pads were always coming off.
