RaceFace is a British Columbia based component company that has been a constant supplier of durable, strong, and well thought out quality products. Whether it's developing a new rock solid stem for the North Shore, or kicking back working on some casual wear, they are always developing something, and are constantly pushing the envelope.
The all new RaceFace Atlas FR cranks are no different, they are peeling the envelop wide open-check them out!Recently we received a set of the
RaceFace Atlas Freeride(FR) cranks, and they are a very solid setup. Available in either Bad 'Azz' Black or Blue Steel, and in any size from 68/73 to 83mm or 100mm. They are a 2 piece design, and are held together with a single, self extracting crank bolt which is secure inside the drive side crank arm.
The Atlas Freeride cranks feature a topographical map of the North Shore etched into the crank arm faces, just in case you ever get lost in their neck of the woods. They weigh in at 2.4 pounds for the cranks, bottom bracket, 2 chain rings and bash guard, a mere 0.3 pounds heavier than the Atlas All Mountain crankset.
The Atlas Freeride crankset is a very cost and weight friendly way for an average rider who is in need of a new crankset to get something that is going to last them for year through rigorous abuse. They are fairly light, strong, very clean looking, and fairly well priced at 308$ Canadian.

As for the controversy on which cranks are better... I vote shimano. The new slx cranks look like they would be just perfect for a light dh build that won't kill your wallet. But Race Face cranks are the prettiest.
i would rather ride the shimano hones than these cranks.
but it's look great
thanks.
