One of the greatest runs of all time....
  • 39 1
I might have missed some details but I'm pretty sure literally every single rider had a foot out/down at one point with the exception of Amaury. Legendary stuff.

 he never disappoints!!!!! lol

Casually takes his hand off mid air to remove a tear-off

@enduroNZ: came here to say just that! Could believe it

@enduroNZ: doesn't wipe the gopro lens though, f*ckin amateur.

Amaury has gone back to back with two of the most amazing runs of all time. Incredible

Respected Amaury, I know you are in a bit of a hurry and you are trying to go fast and all, but if you do the tear off on a jump can you maybe clear the go pro lens as well. And in the mean time if you find my jaw somewhere on the ground, can you give it back to. Your sincercerly Ivo

Incredible run, but like in Val di sole , he doesn’t even seem to go for all or nothing , he looks just to bee 100% in control , and just on another pace than anyone else. His ride in the famous Off camber is just a masterpiece , but this is just a stunning example of what he does all along the track , I am just so impressed

he even repeated his ping pong signature-moment when he got into the infamous rail of the infamous muddy berm...

I can only assume his mechanic forgot to put oil in his brakes and he free fell the entire way down.
That was surely equivalent to Danny Harts infamous mud run? (just without the equally infamous commentary!)

Champery is a very different animal itself, the track is steep all the way down. This track is full of sniper roots and seems to have a mix of everything.
  • 3 1
Didn't see him touch the brakes, although he must have (?) Did you notice him taking his left hand off a couple of times?

@HappyBiker19: Pulling tear offs I’d imagine

@HappyBiker19: yeah, he was taking his goggle covers off. Like motorcross

 infamous
adjective
US /ˈɪn·fə·məs/

well known for something bad; notorious:
He is infamous for saying that cheating is the way the game is played.

@HappyBiker19: 2:27 tear off on air
  • 4 0
@otolo: ooooh, Dusty… Infamous is when you’re more than famous.
  • 5 1
His mechanic didn't forget the oil, he just put it on the discs instead of in the hoses.
  • 1 0
@otolo: the weather was very bad!

Rain lines? Who needs different lines for the rain? All you have to do is just ride the racing line perfectly and you win by 6 seconds. Easy peasy.
  • 5 1
There were a lot of times Amaury moved out of the normal line. It may have been only by an inch or two. But he is always looking for even the smallest advantage that as we see adds up to big winning margins. Another thing I think is key for him. He is always in attack position even when hammering the pedal.
  • 12 1
I’m going to try this next time it’s pissing rain. Just ride like it’s dry and see what happens.
  • 12 0
He is only 28 and this is his 12th WC win, just 10 off of Greg Minnaar. If he keeps riding like this he might catch him in a few years.

 Unbelievable. What's tires are those

Looks like dirty dans to me.
  • 2 0
@Drims: they work, whatever they are;-)

 alien technology not disclosed yet...
  • 1 0
@Drims: yeah boy the Dirty Dans work for sure but you gotta keep them straight over the roots or just miss them altogether.........epic run in those conditions
  • 1 0
@essentialcyclesgower: he cut the front spikes for that... and then uncuted at the back where seems is more compromised the grip on mud...

It looked bad just watching the trackside coverage on Dplus but the POV really showed how bad it was.
  • 5 0
Was that riding a bike down a mountain or riding a kayak over a waterfall?
  • 5 0
 Absolutely perfect

 Unreal
  • 5 0
 Pure Filth!

This run is equal parts terrifying as it is mesmerizing. Unbelievable!!!

Proof that if you go fast enough the laws of physics don’t apply and traction isn’t required
  • 4 0
I slid out and fell down watching that run!
  • 3 0
Faster in the wet than we mortals could ever be slow in the dry. The absolute boss.
  • 3 0
We haven't seen riding like this since Sam Hill was in his pomp, he's unbelievable
  • 3 0
His victory wins at the finish ae just the best!
  • 4 0
 I could've swum that...
  • 2 0
 mm perfect, in those conditions...unreal.
  • 3 0
 How??? Just how...

Is also a record on decibels by the crowd...

Full-width videos don't work well for desktop users. The only way to not have the video vertically clipped is to either full-screen the video or watch it on youtube, which defeats the point of an imbedded video. I can't imagine that many mobile users are watching the video in anything but full-screen, so the full-width imbedded setup doesn't benefit anyone.
  • 2 1
Just maximise the screen, then it's fine.
  • 4 0
It's my main gripe with the otherwise awesome photo epics too. When everything is full-width, there's no way to see any of the photos in full size at once. It takes away from the great photos when you can only view them in sections scrolling down to see the rest.
  • 3 0
@commental: I've got my chrome window in full-screen already. The video aspect ratio is the same as my screen, so tabs at the top of my screen and the taskbar at the bottom means a full-width imbedded video gets cut off. If you have to make the video full-screen to view it properly, it defeats the point of an imbedded video

A thing of muddy beauty! I dare anyone here to match that time in perfect, dry conditions.
  • 1 0
Man, he was flying! That was a great run!!
  • 1 0
Any minute now, he's going to wash out in those corners, NOPE! Crazy run!
  • 2 3
he is doing this with a 3 level neck fusion, i wonder who has allowed him to take that kind of risk
  • 2 0
I don't know much about vertebral fusions. Once they're fully healed, what sort of risks remain?
  • 2 0
 Himself probably
