Summer Of Shred partners with Wheels4Life to Create Flips4Life

Wheels4Life, the charity started by mountain biking legend Hans Rey, has joined forces with Phil Sundbaum and the Summer Of Shred. Hans will be joining Phil for a Summer Of Shred tour stop in Tanzania at the end of August. The two riders will ride together through the Pare Mountains and safari through some of Africas most epic terrain.In preparation for the trip, Summer Of Shred has developed a program to support Wheels4Life, which will be called Flips4Life. Companies and individuals can support the project by pledging money for each backflip that Phil Sundbaum does during the months of July and August. A counter of Phils backflips will be posted on the Summer Of Shred website (www.summerofshred.com) and will be updated daily with his progress through the month.


The money that is raised through Flips4Life will be donated directly to Hans charity Wheels4Life, which delivers bicycles to Africa. Phil and Hans will then hand-deliver the bicycles to villagers during their Summer Of Shred tour through Tanzania.

Wheels4Life is a non-profit charity (501c(3)), that provides free bicycles for people in need of transportation in Third World countries. We partner with local individuals, organizations and other groups to help us identify persons who sincerely need a bike to be able to go to school or to work. Often these people live in very primitive and remote areas with no access or means to public transportation. The closest school, doctor or work-place might be 10 or 20 miles away. Having a bike can make all the difference in somebodys life and can give them a chance to break out of the vicious poverty cycle. The gift of mobility, in form of a bicycles, can do miracles.
