The Penn Press website’s shopping cart is provided by IndiePubs, an online bookstore for independent publishers that is operated by our distributor Ingram Publisher Services. When you check out from pennpress.org, you will be directed to IndiePubs to complete your purchase. But rest assured, you are still buying directly from Penn Press and your discount codes will apply.
Tips for a Successful IndiePubs Transaction
- Have all of the books you want to buy in the cart before proceeding to checkout. After adding a title, you can use the “Continue Shopping” button to return to pennpress.org to find more books to add. To remove books from your cart, use the “Remove” button or adjust the quantity and hit the “Update Cart” button.
- Keep in mind that shipping is free for orders over $40. To qualify for the free shipping, your subtotal must be over $40 after any discounts have been applied.
- Check the box to agree to terms and conditions. This is required before you can check out!
- Proceed to checkout and enter your contact and shipping information. You’ll need to provide your email address, a shipping address, and a phone number in case we need to contact you about your order.
- Enter a discount code if you are using one. Typically, we do not allow codes to be combined, so if you have multiple discount codes, please enter the one you most want to use. Again, please note that free shipping will only be applied to your order if your subtotal after discounts is greater than $40.
- Continue to the next screen to select shipping options. You’ll notice that if your order qualifies for free shipping, the “Economy Mail” option will display a cost of $0.00.
- Continue to the next screen to provide your payment information. Note that you have the option to use the same shipping address you provided as your billing address or to enter a new billing address. You can also check a box so that the system will remember your information for a faster experience the next time you check out with the same email address.
- Complete your order. The “Pay Now” button will finish everything up, and you’ll be taken to a confirmation screen and receive an email confirmation. Congratulations on your purchase!
More Important Information about the IndiePubs Cart
- The IndiePubs cart is for Penn Press books only—subscriptions to our journals can be purchased through the Journals section of our website.
- Books are only available for preorder through the IndiePubs cart beginning 30 days before the book’s official publication date. We are working with Ingram to extend this preorder window soon!
- The IndiePubs cart is only available to customers in the US and Canada at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For information about ordering our books outside of the US and Canada, please see the Ordering Information page.
- Canadian customers may notice that shipping fees to Canada are high. These shipping fees include any applicable taxes and duties associated with the order, which the customer must pay as the importer of record.
- Neither Ingram nor Penn Press can modify or cancel an order once it is submitted through the IndiePubs shopping cart.
- Free shipping is automatically available as an option for orders whose subtotal is greater than $40 after discount codes have been applied.
