WhatsApp is testing a tool that lets Meta AI respond to and edit photos.

The feature, spotted by WABetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android, will enable Meta AI to analyze and answer questions about uploaded photos. For instance, users can ask Meta AI to identify the objects in an image or explain what the image means.

Users can also instruct Meta AI to quickly edit an image by providing text prompts within the chatbox. While the scope of its editing capabilities is unclear, WABetaInfo says the feature “adds convenience to the user experience" and helps people save time.

Privacy-conscious users can also delete any photos they upload at any time.

Meta is reportedly also developing an AI-enhanced avatar generator that will enable users to create images of themselves in various backgrounds and themes.
