The 2024 Motorola Edge will come with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, meaning the company's midrange phones can access Google's suite of AI photo tools for the first time.

Users will now be able to take advantage of the Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Google Auto Enhance features in order to remove unwanted elements from photos, and make other after-snap image tweaks.

The phone will be available unlocked starting June 20, and will cost $549.99, a $50 discount from last year’s model

Much of the 2024 Motorola Edge remains unchanged from the 2023 version, including the screen's 2,400-by-1,080-pixel resolution and its 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also retains its IP68 rating, making it dustproof and waterproof. Like last year, the phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-upgradable storage.

The main camera is still 50MP, but this time the f/1.8 lens includes a Sony LYT-700C image sensor. There’s also a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera for macro photos, as well as a 32MP f.2.4 front camera for taking selfies, both of which are holdovers from last year’s model.

The Edge will get a slightly bigger battery this year, jumping from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh. The larger battery, like the previous one, will be compatible with 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, though you’ll have to provide your own charger they don't ship in the box.

The Edge will now have a customizable side button, so users can get quick access to their favorite apps.

The Edge only comes in a  Midnight Blue colorway and will be available for purchase through Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola.com, as well as directly through carriers.
