Amazon Prime Day returns for another go-round this summer, and it's now official: Prime Day will hit on July 16, starting at 12:01 a.m. PDT and running through July 17, bringing thousands of incredible deals on everything that Amazon sells, especially tech.

The Prime Day tradition began in 2015, celebrating the company's 20th birthday. Wanting to give even more value to Prime subscribers, they launched a one-day sale that took the world by storm, beating out Black Friday for volume with 34.4 million items sold. They naturally decided to make it an annual thing, and it just got bigger every year. Last year's Prime Day saw the single largest sales day in company history and over $2.5 billion in savings. For more details, check out our Everything You Need To Know About Prime Day, where we dive deep into the ins and outs of the event and the various benefits available to Prime members.

Not a Prime member yet? There's no better time to sign up. Amazon just keeps adding benefits to its subscription program. Not only do you get free same-day, one-day, or two-day delivery on millions of items, cost-saving Amazon Day deliveries, discounts on tons of products throughout the year, and savings on prescriptions at 60,000 pharmacies, but there are also tons of digital benefits. Stream shows and movies on Prime Video, songs and podcasts on Amazon Music, enjoy unlimited photo storage, a free Twitch channel subscription, free Grubhub+, and more. Prime is one of the best deals out there, and with over 230 million subscribers worldwide, it seems like common knowledge at this point.

But what if it's not? Amazon is sweetening the pot with even more deals and perks for Prime members leading up to the event. You can apply for a Prime Visa card and get a $200 Amazon gift card on approval. If you haven't sprung for Amazon Music Unlimited, the company's Spotify competitor, you can get five months free with a new signup. In addition, you can pull discounts on streaming video rentals and purchases, with selected titles up to 50% off. Shopping for groceries? Prime members can get coupons for $15 off a $75+ total purchase when shopping at Amazon Fresh physical stores between June 26 and July 15. 40% off on select Carnival cruises. Deals on small business products. A collection of items chosen by Megan Thee Stallion? It's all here, astoundingly.

On July 16 and 17, discounts will be available for everybody, but the real savings are exclusive to Prime subscribers. There will also be some early sales leading into Prime Day. Figuring out which ones are worth your time can be a little daunting (but that's our job; we've got it covered). So get prepared with these five tips on finding the best Prime Day deals. We'll be spotlighting the best offers in various categories throughout the day, but that doesn't mean you can't dig around for yourself either. Just watch out for scams! Unscrupulous sellers definitely go hard on Prime Day; here's our guide to shopping safely.

Amazon knows you don't want to wait for deals, though, which is why they're already releasing early Prime Day offers. Here are three of the best we picked out for you.

Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Keep your floors sparkling with this lightweight and powerful vac
$349.00 at Amazon
$469.99 Save $120.99

Here's a deep pre-Prime Day discount on one of the best stick vacuums on the market. We love Dysons for their unique multi-cone design that circulates air rapidly and efficiently, picking up all kinds of dirt and debris. This is one of the most popular cordless vacuums of all time, boasting a de-tangling Motorbar cleaner head that handles pet hair expertly. The battery is rated for up to 40 minutes of run time in between charges, and whole-machine HEPA filtration keeps the grime from getting back into your air.

Ring Video Doorbell

Half-off a dependable home security solution
$49.99 at Amazon
$99.99 Save $50.00

Amazon's Ring line of smart doorbells and security cameras are consistently good performers for the price, and right now they're offering deep discounts on the original video doorbell. Even though it was released in 2020, this unit is competitive with newer releases, featuring sharp and dependable 1080p video with easy integration to Alexa and IFTTT systems. In our review, we said that it was "affordable and easy to install, and it plays nice with other smart devices." A 50% price cut is the best we've seen on this one ever.

Apple Watch Series 9

$100 off one of our favorite smartwatches and it's not even Prime Day?
$299.00 at Amazon
$399.00 Save $100.00

We raved about the Apple Watch Series 9 in our review, saying that the portable computer "has a faster processor, a brighter display, and a more eco-friendly build than its predecessor, making it the best smartwatch for iPhone owners" and giving it an Editors' Choice award. Packed with new features like on-device Siri and hands-free gestural controls, the newest Apple Watch is a potent addition to your digital life, letting you monitor your health and interact with a panoply of apps with ease. This is a deep discount on the Storm Blue aluminum case 41mm model with GPS.

Going to hold out for the big day? We'll be constantly updating our Prime Day pages with new offers and deals as they surface both in the weeks leading up to the event and on Prime Day itself. Our lack of sleep and constant page refreshing will magically transform into massive savings on all your favorite stuff. That's the real Prime Day tradition!
