We had a lot to say about this 14-inch model in our review of the Apple MacBook Pro. We were quite complimentary, in fact, pointing out the seriously powerful M1 Pro CPU and the HDMI output and SD card reader as well as its impressive audio performance and eye-catching HDR display. All of that combined with what we dubbed its"marathon battery life" was enough to earn this MacBook an "Outstanding" rating, and Editors' Choice award, and a "Best of the Year" nod.

One of the few issues we had with this MacBook was the price, but that all now seems to be solved thanks to the $800 discount being offered today. Our reviewer called this one a "No-Brainer" going as far to say, "The 14-inch MacBook Pro is a major leap forward for Apple laptops in a way that the 13-inch Pro model is not. It’s the obvious choice for creative professionals who need a mobile workstation for content creation that juggles the three competing demands of portability, affordability, and power."
