As part of this platform, the préfecture de police carries out several processing of personal data :

  • To issue and manage digital passes;
  • To respond to user requests concerning the issue of a digital pass.

Processing of personal data related to the issuance of passes during Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024

In order to guarantee the safety of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games (JOP 2024), the préfecture de police will set up several types of perimeters in Paris and in Île-de-France departments hosting the Olympic events within which access and traffic restrictions may be imposed.

Some of these perimeters will be affected by a digital pass issued after registration on this platform and whose deployment constitutes a processing of personal data.

The data controller

Data processing is carried out by the préfet de police, in Paris – 1bis rue de Lutèce – 75004, in the Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine et Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis.

Purpose and legal basis

The purpose of the processing is to manage passes allowing people or vehicles to access perimeters within which restrictions are made on the free movement of persons, in order to prevent public disorder and guarantee the safety of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The processing is implemented by commitment to comply with the amended decree of 2 May 2011 on the automated processing of personal data called ” Residents database for security zones created for a major event “, taken in application of Article 31 of Law No. 78-17 of 6 January 1978. The data processing falls under Directive (EU) 2016/680 of 27 April 2016 transposed into Title III of Law No. 78-17.

Categories of data collected

Data relating to individuals:

  • Pass number
  • Name and surname
  • Date and place of birth
  • Postal and email addresses
  • Telephone contact information
  • Photography
  • Proof of residence in the area
  • Number and copy of identity document (national identity card, passport, driver’s license, residence permit)
  • Date of access within the perimeter
  • Reason for accessing the security perimeter and proof

Vehicle data:

  • Registration number
  • Copy of the registration document

The retention period

Personal data are kept for a period of three months from the end of the event, except for the copy of the national identity card, driver’s license, passport or residence permit, which are kept until the pass is issued.

Access to personal data beyond three days is only possible in the context of legal proceedings.

Categories of recipients

The following people have access to all or part of the data mentioned :

  • Individually designated and specially authorized public officials and persons responsible for managing data collected for the issuance of passes;
  • Public officials assigned to access control;
  • The event organiser only for data concerning persons whose access to the premises and facilities hosting this event and subject to authorization from the organiser;
  • The persons in charge of making passes;
  • The service provider in charge of data hosting.

Individual rights

In accordance with articles 105 and 106 of the above-mentioned Law of 6 January 1978, the rights to access, rectify, erase and to restriction of processing can be requested directly by writing to the following email address : donnees-personnelles-prefecturedepolice@interieur.gouv.fr by attaching a copy of an identity document to the request.

In order to avoid hindering investigations, searches or administrative or judicial procedures or to protect public security or national security, the rights mentioned may be subject to restrictions pursuant to 2° and 3° of II and III of Article 107 of the same law.

The person concerned by these restrictions may request their rights from the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés under the conditions set out in Article 108 of the same law.

The right to object of Article 110 of the above-mentioned Law of 6 January 1978 does not apply to this processing.

Management of user requests

The data controller

The processing is carried out by the préfet de police.

Purpose and legal basis

The préfecture de police carried out data processing for the management of user requests on the platform.

This processing is based on Article 6 (1) e of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR) and exercise of official authority vested in the préfecture de police.

Data collected

  • Name and surname;
  • Email address;
  • Subject of the message;
  • Message.

The data collected in the contact form that are indicated mandatory (*) are required to respond the request.

The retention period

Personal data are no longer kept from the end of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Categories of recipients

The following people have access to all or part of the data mentioned :

  • Public officials responsible for managing passes;
  • Persons in charge of the service to manage user requests concerning the issuance of passes;
  • The service provider in charge of data hosting.
