UPDATED:

A third suspect has been arrested in connection to an Orlando shooting that injured a man and child over the long Fourth of July weekend, the Police Department announced Tuesday.

OPD said in a press release that detectives arrested Juan Carlos Lopez-Ruiz. The agency said he was charged with two counts of attempted felony murder with a firearm while committing aggravated battery, two counts of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm and armed robbery with a firearm.

Several armed individuals in an SUV pulled up to a truck Saturday and attacked the four people inside it on the 700 block of Oxalis Avenue, OPD said in the press release. Two in the truck — a 45-year-old man and 4-year-old girl — were shot but are expected to recover. The two others were not injured.

Two other suspects were previously arrested: 32-year-old Yasmi Lidieth Matamoros-Mendoza, who was apprehended by U.S. Marshals after fleeing to Louisiana, and 39-year-old Marvin Antonio Paguanda Sanchez, who was arrested by officers at the scene.

OPD said Matamoros-Mendoza has been charged with four counts of attempted second-degree murder, robbery with a firearm, two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. She originally gave police a fake Mexican passport and ID with a different name, the agency said.

Paguanda Sanchez has been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact and tampering with physical evidence, according to the press release.

Police believe the three may have been involved in other robberies and shootings and are asking the public for help in identifying more potential suspects. To share information, contact Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477) or the OPD Violent Crimes Unit by calling 911.
