Drier air expected in east Central Florida on Saturday

Drier air is expected on the east side of Central Florida as showers and storms are forecast for the west coast of the state, Spectrum News 13 meteorologist Zach Covey said.

Covey said the day will begin with plenty of sunshine and temperatures in the 90s throughout Central Florida as storms begin around 2 p.m. Rain is expected to move inland.

Rain impacts will be 40 mph to 50 mph winds, frequent lightening and localized flooding, Covey said.

The high today will be 94 degrees and the low will be 77 degrees.
