UCF football kicked off what is expected to be a busy holiday weekend on the recruiting trail by receiving a commitment from 4-star receiver Waden Charles on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder becomes the 12th commitment the Knights have received for their 2025 recruiting class.
A highly touted prospect out of West Palm, Charles originally pledged to Miami on Sept. 10, 2023, but de-committed on May 30.
He also had offers from schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Michigan.
Charles was a dual threat at Palm Beach Central High School, playing receiver and strong safety. He’s accounted for 2,144 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns, along with 76 tackles and 8 interceptions in 30 games for the Broncos.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Charles is ranked as the 11th-best athlete in the country and the 47th-best in the state. His commitment pushes UCF’s national ranking for its 2025 class up to 42nd overall.
All verbal commitments are non-binding but can become official during the early signing period in December.
