UPDATED:

Federal prosecutors charged a 62-year-old Central Florida man with child exploitation.

Prosecutors accused Wayne Joseph Cavins of Deltona of four counts of producing child exploitation materials on Wednesday, according to the Department of Justice.

The indictment said Cavins enticed and used a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of having the minor take pictures of the sexual abuse between Jan. 8-21, 2021.

Authorities arrested him at his home Tuesday.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office worked with Homeland Security for the investigation, the DOJ reported.

Cavins is facing a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years with a maximum of 30 years for each count.

If he’s found guilty of each count, that’s a minimum of 60 years and a total of 120 years.
