Fourth of July will be sunny all day and the high temp will reach about 92 degrees. By Friday, “sunny and hot” will be the words with highs reaching 100 in most Portland metro locations, Oregon weather forecasters say. Overnight lows will cool to about 64, which will offer some relief.

Saturday is looking like the hottest day of the run with temps nearly 104 in Portland and a 20-40% chance of temperatures at or above 110 along the Interstate 5 corridor and especially near Hillsboro.

Sunday was initially supposed to cool down below 100, but current models show another hot day with highs near 104. There’s a 70% chance of temps of 105 or hotter in urban areas around Salem, Hillsboro, Portland, and Vancouver.

The National Weather Service now has placed Portland under an excessive heat warning beginning Thursday afternoon and extended it through Sunday at 11 p.m.
