The Hood River-White Salmon Bridge partially reopened Sunday afternoon, three days after a semitruck caused “severe damage” when its cargo hit an overhead bridge support.

Traffic is currently limited to passenger vehicles, according to the Port of Hood River, which operates the span. It remains closed to commercial trucks, to prevent another accidental strike, on the advice of civil engineers who inspected the structure. River traffic can still pass underneath.
