Oregon State had a productive Sunday on the football recruiting trail as it received high school commitments from a safety and an offensive lineman.
Sean Craig, rated as a three-star safety from Henderson, Nevada, committed to the Beavers during the morning. A few hours later, OSU received a pledge from Halafihi “Brian” Tapu, a 6-foot-7, 295-pound three-star offensive lineman from Salt Lake City.
The additions of Craig and Tapu increase Oregon State’s 2025 recruiting class to seven players.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Craig is the Liberty High School teammate of linebacker Jeremiah Ioane, who committed to Oregon State earlier this spring. Craig visited the Corvallis campus the first weekend of June.
Among schools to offer Craig were San Diego State, Washington State and Air Force. Craig was first team Class 5A Division I all-state in Nevada as a junior.
Tapu, who made his commitment while visiting Oregon State this weekend, has a growing list of offers, which includes Texas A&M, Utah, Nebraska, Arkansas, Arizona and Arizona State.
Tapu moved from New Zealand to Utah prior to the 2023-24 school year to play football. His parents continue to live in New Zealand. Earlier in June, Tapu made an official visit to Nebraska.
Tapu is the third offensive lineman of Oregon State’s 2025 recruiting class, joining Jake Normoyle of West Linn and Noah Thomas of Vancouver.
