The highly anticipated EA Sports College Football 25 video game releases next week on July 19 in a moment that college football fans and gamers alike have been looking forward to for quite some time. Eager to play a new college football video game for the first time since a decade-long hiatus following the release of the NCAA Football 14 game.

Michigan running back Donovan Edwards is one of three cover athletes for College Football 25, and the release of numerous features and tidbits about the game ahead of its official rollout has led to Edwards playing a role in the first look at gameplay. Facing off against sports gaming influencer Bordeaux in the College Football 25 | Gameplay First Look, which released on Monday and gave fans the first-ever sneak peak at the gameplay for College Football 25.

In Edwards and Bordeaux’s first matchup, Edwards called his own number and took a handoff 67 yards to the house as time expired in the second quarter in an epic moment that can be seen below. Taking a crucial halftime lead over Texas virtually ahead of their highly anticipated non-conference matchup in Week 2 of the upcoming season.

Edwards bested Bordeaux in the matchup, securing a 21-14 win for the Wolverines against the Longhorns in a matchup that heavily featured himself. Earning Player of the Game with his own player after scoring all three of Michigan’s touchdowns along with 160 yards on the ground.

The two squared off in a second game where Edwards played with Michigan once again and Bordeaux chose Penn State as his team of choice, a matchup played in the backdrop of Beaver Stadium for an iconic Nittany Lions’ White Out game. But despite Bordeaux having the homefield advantage, Edwards was even more dominant in their second matchup, defeating him 56-21 and taking home Player of the Game yet again for himself with 106 rushing yards and two scores.

“Playing the game, this was amazing. It was very fun, it feels very realistic,” Edwards said. “Being able to be on the cover of the game as well is a blessing and to be able to put up points and to be able to rush for over 100 yards per game, it’s great. Especially it being my first time this game.”

“He has to get a little bit better before he plays me again,” Edwards joked with Bordeaux. “So overall it was a great experience playing this wonderful game that’s been brought back after a decade.”

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Colorado‘s two-way star Travis Hunter join Edwards on the cover of College Football 25, as all will be able to join in on the gameplay next Friday.
