JUCO outfielder Chase Williams commits to Florida State

FSU continues to raid the JUCO ranks to help their baseball program for the 2025 campaign. On Sunday evening, JUCO outfielder Chase Williams committed to the Seminoles. He announced the move on his Instagram page. He stole 29 bases and hit .379, eight doubles, one triple, and two homers in 55 games as a freshman for Northwest Florida State. Williams becomes the 7th JUCO addition to Florida State’s roster for 2025.

Williams is a 5-10, 170-pound outfielder. He is a switch-hitter and throws right-handed. Williams scored 71 runs and drove in 32 this season. He earned second team All-Conference honors and was also named a 2024 FCSAA Gold Glover.

He’s the seventh addition from the JUCO ranks for Florida State’s 2025 roster. Williams is also joining NWF teammate Mack Estrada. The ‘Noles JUCO class includes: first baseman Blaydon Pain, infielder Carter McCulley, pitcher Nick Greeney, pitcher Aiden Butler, and pitcher Chris Knier.

Florida State had an impressive year this season, finishing with a 49-17 overall record and a 17-12 record in the ACC. The Seminoles had one of the best records in the country at home this year, posting a 32-4 record in Tallahassee. They made it all the way to the 2024 ACC Tournament Championship, before falling to Duke, 16-4. FSU made it back to a place that’s familiar for their program, when they punched their tickets to Omaha and the 2024 College World Series. They won a game against Virginia, won another against UNC, but lost both of their games to Tennessee.

Florida State swept their NCAA Regional, taking down Stetson 6-4 and beating UCF twice. In the Tallahassee Super Regional, the Seminoles dominated the UConn Huskies, completely obliterating them in one game, 24-4. The 24 runs they scored were the most ever in NCAA Super Regional history. The 20-run margin of victory was also the highest ever in a Super Regional round. FSU had five home runs in the beatdown. The Seminoles held both previous records.

In their second game in Super Regionals this year, they needed 12 innings to get past UConn with a score of 10-8. After missing the NCAA Tournament in 2023, it’s clear that Link Jarrett has the Seminoles program back on track and expectations will be high heading into the 2025 season.
