WASHINGTON (7News) — A meetup to negotiate the sale of a nine-week-old puppy in Southeast, D.C. on Monday ended with the dog stolen at gunpoint, according to Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officials.
The victim, according to police, arranged to sell the female American Bully to a person on the 2800 block of Texas Avenue, Southeast at around 9:30 p.m.

During negotiations, the buyer allegedly brandished a handgun before running away with the dog, who wasn't wearing a collar at the time.
D.C. Police said they encourage people to use Safe Exchange zones at all district stations and their Harbor Patrol station to exchange goods or money.
