A day after Independence Day, a body was found at the Mini Storage facility in Edmond.

Responding to a call about a possible deceased individual, officers found the body of a dead woman at the storage facility. She was later identified as 30-year-old Elyse Marie Betz.

Investigators learned Betz was temporarily staying at a nearby hotel with a man named Kyle Robert Fedus.

According to the Edmond Police Department (EPD), 36-year-old Fedus was wanted in North Carolina for Federal Probation Violation (robbery with a firearm).

Fedus was reportedly found a day later at another in Edmond. Police arrested him for his outstanding warrant.

Fedus told investigators that he had a pact with Betz, agreeing to overdose using a syringe of methamphetamine and fentanyl if police found them.

On July 4, Fedus told detectives that he and the victim were in the hotel parking lot they were staying at before running through the woods because they were in fear of police.

They came out of the woods and ended up at the storage facility where they reportedly decided to commit suicide.

EPD said Fedus admitted to administering the fatal dose to Betz after injecting himself.

Based on the evidence and his confession, Fedus has been charged with Murder in the First Degree. - Edmond Police Department

Toxicology results are pending from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
