The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security serves as the representing office for the State of Oklahoma in developing and implementing a comprehensive statewide homeland security strategy; planning and implementing a statewide response system; administering the homeland security advisory system; coordinating, applying for and distributing federal homeland security grant funds, and the implementation of national homeland security plans. 

Founded in 2004 this agency, now encompasses the following programs:  Oklahoma School Security Institute (OSSI), Regional Response System, Training and Exercise, Statewide Interoperability Communications, Law Enforcement Liaison, Critical Infrastructure Protection, National Incident Management System (NIMS) Compliance, Public Outreach and Preparedness, and Grants Administration.

The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security also oversees the coordination of homeland security efforts within the State of Oklahoma; provides staff support to the Governor’s various security and preparedness committees and working groups; develops comprehensive training programs on homeland security issues; and serves as a resource to the public and local agencies in homeland security efforts.
