Celebrity Gogglebox favourite Roman Kemp has candidly spoken about his longing to become a parent, crediting his famous mum and dad as the inspiration for the dream.

In a recent chat, Roman showered his Spandau Ballet star dad Martin Kemp and Wham! backing singer mum Shirlie with praise. He confessed that the thought of not having his own children is terrifying due to the wonderful example his parents have set.

Speaking to Heat magazine, he revealed: "I'm terrified of not having kids. That is my biggest thing. I even went to have a sperm check when I was 30. I'm such a family orientated person."

He continued to express his love for his family - especially his famous parents - saying: "I love my mum and dad."

He added: "I'm so grateful for the life that I've been able to have, growing up in the family that I had, that I couldn't think of anything better.", reports the Mirror.

Roman also shared an emotional moment about his struggles after stepping into a new role, admitting he broke down in tears believing he "wasn't good enough" following a career progression.

The 31 year old has been given the responsibility of hosting two series of The Finish Line, a new daytime quiz show for BBC One. Despite being a seasoned TV presenter, having hosted shows like The One Show since 2022 and previously appearing on Capital Breakfast until 2024, the quiz show format posed a unique challenge, according to the Express.

Disclosing an experience from his early days, Roman shared how he once turned to his Spandau Ballet star dad, Martin Kemp, and his mum Shirlie for support after a rough first day of filming in Belfast. Chatting with Heat magazine, the star revealed: "Filming the first episode of the first series, I was so bad! ".

Despite often being tagged as a "nepobaby", due to his famous parentage, Roman has mre than earned his stripes in the world of showbiz, handling breezy segments on The One Show as well as more challenging subject matters with ease.

Admitting that coming from a well-known family "hasn't hindered" his career, he confessed that if it were up to his father Martin, he would have lined him up for more gigs.
