Gemma Atkinson has taken to Instagram to ask her followers for advice on how to soothe her teething baby son, Thiago. The Hits Radio host and former Emmerdale actress shared a video where she described the teething process, saying that it "must be so painful" for baby Thiago - and asked if anyone had any tips beyond the usual remedies.
Engaged to Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez, Gemma is also mum to four year old daughter Mia. She gave birth to Thiago last July.
In her Instagram story, Gemma wrote to her 1.9 million followers: "Anyone else at this stage doing anything diff than the usual cold chew toys, pain relief, granules etc? Would love tips! " She added: "Teething stage for Thiago. Bless him. It must be so painful for them," along with a sad face emoji.
In the video, Gemma can be seen pointing to a stain on her top, explaining it's Calpol from her teething baby. She said: "He was up last night. It was like having a newborn again. He was up every 40 minutes or so."
She continued: "Crying, shoving his hands in his mouth, biting his mattress... I gave him Calpol, we did teething granules, we did everything," In the end, Gemma revealed that the only thing that helped was comforting him, leading to her sleeping on his rocking chair with him, reports the Express.
"So I feel like I've been on a roller coaster. Do you know in the morning when your back's just wrecking, my eyes are killing.."
"But bless him. It must be awful for them, musn't it? The pain in their mouth," she said with a sad face. It's bad enough when we get one toothache. Imagine the whole mouth!"
Then Gemma shared another funny video and wrote: "Gorka's knackered too." She filmed Gorka in the kitchen and asked him, "How tired are you today Gorks? He joked, "From one to 10? 20."
Gemma laughed and said, "Oh bless him," talking about Thiago, not Gorka. "I mean Thiago, not Gorka. He's the dad - he should be tired! ".
Gemma and Gorka met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, when Gemma was paired with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, while Gorka was paired with Alexandra Burke. Both pairs made it to the final of the competition but lost out to Joe McFadden.
Throughout the competition, Gemma and Gorka became great friends and eventually struck up a romance. They now live with their two kids in Manchester.
