William John Klein OBITUARY

William John Klein, affectionately known as “Bill,” was born on January 6, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, and peacefully passed away on June 26, 2024. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Hope Carreon; his daughters, Christine Klein and Roseanne Cohen; his son-in-law, Evan Cohen; his cherished granddaughters, Juliana and Charlotte Cohen; his stepchildren, Regina and Craig Essex; and his great stepchildren, Desirae and Trent Essex.He was preceded in death by his first beloved wife of 37 years, Alicia Paris Klein, who passed away in 1995, and his parents, Frank Klein and Anne Kasel Klein and brothers Thomas and Kenneth Klein. After completing his education, Bill relocated to Los Angeles, where he embarked on a distinguished career in the aerospace industry. He made significant contributions to the Apollo missions, where his extraordinary skills as a mathematical genius shone brightly. Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a treasured friend.Bill will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but we celebrate and are grateful for his long and fulfilling life, which spanned an incredible 99 years.A memorial service will be held on July 30 at 10:00 a.m. at All Souls Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Bill’s generous spirit and love for his community.May he rest in peace.
