Craig Scott Hawkins OBITUARY

Craig Scott Hawkins was born at Camp Pendleton on August 15, 1958. His family eventually settled in Orange County. Craig graduated from Tustin High School in 1977. He completed his bachelor’s degree at UC Irvine and Graduate degrees from Trinity Graduate School and Claremont University. In 1998, Craig married Janet Scheid and moved to Corona, CA. He was a devoted husband and father to their children, Sarah, Daniel, and Joshua. He loved spending time with his family, especially their annual summer trips to Chicago to visit Janet’s family.Craig was committed to his Christian faith and served as a Bible teacher and church leader. His greatest passion in life was serving God. He developed long-standing relationships with pastors and church leaders in Southeast and East Asia, traveling multiple times each year to these locations to teach and mentor church leaders.Craig passed away unexpectedly while traveling in East Asia, falling asleep peacefully after completing a week of teaching and meeting with his many friends and students. It is a joy and comfort to all who knew Craig to know that he entered eternal life in peace, doing what he loved the most.Craig was preceded in death by his parents James Hawkins and Lorine Hawkins and his son, Daniel. Survivors include his wife, Janet and their children, Sarah, and Joshua; sisters, Nancy Stajduhar, and Gail Del Pozzo; brother, Phillip Hawkins and many nieces and nephews. Although his family lost an anchor, support, and encouragement, they will forever remember, love, and appreciate Craig’s commitment to his family and living for the ministry of Christ.A Celebration of Life for Craig S. Hawkins will be Saturday, July 20th at 1:00 PM at Northpoint Church in Corona, CA.
