Carol Louise Henrie Vice OBITUARY

Carol Louise Henrie Vice was born on April 12, 1940, in Celina, Ohio to Charles Clement Henrie and Anna Louise Frost Henrie. As a child, she moved to Laguna Beach, CA with her parents. Carol was fortunate to grow up in Emerald Bay, Laguna Beach with her sisters, Carla, Jane, and Barbara where they spent time at the beach, on their family’s boat, and on Catalina Island. Her love of the beach continued throughout her life. She attended and graduated from Laguna Beach High School and went on to college at San Jose State, CA, earning a degree in teaching.She married her love, Eddie Joseph Vice, Jr., on the second of May 1964. After Eddie retired from the Navy, they settled in Corona, CA where they lived for more than 30 years, raising two children. They traveled often and spent many summers in Hawaii. Carol was an elementary school teacher and taught for most of her career at Riverview Elementary in Norco, CA. She was a creative and wonderful teacher, having enriched many lives with some of her students continuing to remain in contact with her. She was an active member of the Red Hats, the Friendship Connection, and a longtime volunteer of the Corona Public Library. Eddie preceded her in death on November 11, 2000. Carol moved to Spanish Springs, Nevada in July 2022 to be closer to her daughter, grandson, and great-grandchildren. On Sunday, June 30, 2024, Carol passed away at home, surrounded by family. She is survived by her son Brent Allen Vice of Corona, CA; daughter Ann Marie Vice McCann of Verdi, CA; grandson, Clay William Dabney; and great-grandchildren Roxanne and Dean Dabney. The family will celebrate Carol’s life with an intimate gathering at the graveside of her husband at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA where she will be buried, followed by a memorial on the beach in Laguna Beach, CA.
