An Indiana man was arrested in Barstow on Monday, July 8, on suspicion of killing his roommate at a sober living facility in Irvine, authorities said.

Around 6 a.m., the victim was found inside a residence along 2 Tyler Place suffering from serious injuries, according to Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department. The victim was taken to a hospital and was later pronounced dead.

He had not been identified on Monday.

The suspect, Braxton Tysean Hill, of Indiana, fled and was arrested in Barstow with help from the California Highway Patrol, Oldoerp said.

A motive for the killing was under investigation.

The exact cause of death was still under investigation.
