Served every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m, the new menu, like Maizano’s dinner menu, focuses on regional Mexican cuisine inspired by the farmers markets of Mexico. Starters include taco de tianguis ($9) featuring cecina (air-dried salted meat), chorizo, salsa verde and crispy potatoes or tostada de pulpo encacahuatado ($16), a combination of grilled octopus with salsa macha and encacahuatado mole (a mole of peanut sauce with tomato, dried chili and sesame seeds). Seasonal crudo de temporada or aguachile negro ($13) with blue shrimp, cucumber and avocado offer lighter options.

Main dishes include blue corn pancakes ($19) made with heirloom corn and topped with house-made granola, seasonal fruit, requesón cheese and honey; torta de cochinita ($19), a pulled pork stew with bolillo, grilled cheese, avocado, hibiscus pickle onions and habanero sauce; a lobster-tail filled enchiladas de langosta ($35); and huevos rancheros ($19) with char-grilled steak, panela queso and salsa roja.

“From masa-based snacks to hearty main dishes, we’ve created a menu that brings a fresh and contemporary twist to traditional Mexican brunch,” said executive chef Alan Sanz in a written statement.

The restaurant’s beverage program, led by general manager Israel Mejia, features cocktails made with Mexican wine and spirits.

Maizano, a portmanteau of the restaurant’s masa-forward menu and the affectionate term “paisano,” offers indoor and patio seating. Reservations, which are strongly encouraged, are now being accepted for brunch.
