A new County Community Service Center opened in Brea on Monday, June 10, creating a “one-stop-shop” where Orange County residents can get connected to services from government agencies or community organizations.
At the center, residents can apply for food benefit programs, health insurance and financial aid through the OC Social Services Agency, or find health care resources through CalOptima Health or the OC Health Care Agency. OC Workforce Solutions is also located on the third floor at the center to provide employment resources for job seekers and business owners.
Staff at the center can also help folks, in several languages, with important records such as birth and marriage certificates, DMV appointments for driver’s licenses as well as with referrals to housing, childcare and educational services. The Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs plans to place a social worker at newly opened center to further connect new residents to the services and resources available in Orange County to help them get settled.
“The opening of this location is yet another milestone in the expansion of county services into our community,” An Tran, director of the Social Services Agency (SSA), said in a statement. “The success of CCSC Brea comes from working with our co-located county and community-based partners. OC Health Care Agency, CalOptima Health, OC Workforce Solutions, the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs and SSA are bringing together our collective resources in one place.”
The Brea location is the second of its kind. Another County Community Service Center is located in Westminster and serves about 1,600 residents every months, officials said.
