A man possibly jogging along a Santa Ana street died after getting hit by a car Monday night before the driver fled, police said.
Officers were called to the collision just after 11 p.m. and found him down in the 1900 block of South Raitt Street, near West St. Anne Place, Santa Ana police said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man might have been crossing Raitt at the time. Police said the vehicle involved was possibly a white four-door sedan but so far the driver has not been identified.
The victim may have been hit by other vehicles afterward as well whose drivers also left, Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said.
