Bodum Pavina Double Wall Glasses

Bodum's award winning Pavina Double Wall Glasses are mouth blown by expert artisans. Each piece is individually handmade and the double wall glass construction gives each glass thermal properties to help to keep hot drinks warmer and cool drinks cooler. The double wall will also keep glass cool to the touch and eliminate need for coasters as no messy condensation will occur. Available in 2 Pack and 6 pack sets in 4 Sizes.

Double Wall Glasses that Breathe!

A silicone vent at the base of each of Bodum's Double Wall Glasses equalizes the air pressure between the two layers of glass when either hot or cold liquids are added. Permeable only to air, never water, the vent enhances durability and will never allow liquids to enter between the two layers.

Every Double Wall Glass is mouth-blown by expert artisans, and therefore each may have slight differences in height, thickness, and weight. To preserve the longevity of the glass, please follow recommended usage and care instructions.

In the 1st and 2nd picture I poured water in th Bodum glass and then heated it for 1 minute in microwave. The second picture shows the heated water still in Bodum glass with the temperature now at 187 degrees Farenheight. This was to prove if the glass could be heated in microwave with water in it and not crack under stress Answer - yes. Internal temp of water 187 degrees F. Temperature of glass exterior when handled was warm but not hot like a traditional mug.In 3rd and 4th picture, I instead heated water in a standard porcelain mug also for 1 minute in microwave to 187 degrees Farenheight, then poured it into the Bodum glass, which was room temperature. Bodum glass accepted the hot water, did not crack and exterior was cool to the touch.Overall excellent, has a neat silicone vent on bottom of cup, but remember it is glass so wash gently. Only cons, I would have bought larger size for more coffee!

No doubt when you want a beverage hot, or cold, once removed from its temperature-controlled source, not the ambient temperature of the liquid immediately degrades. While these Bodum glasses (there are other makers as well)do a fine job of minimizing the environmental effect. Using the same principle as a thermos - that is a double wall with a vacuum between - your beverage will stay at temperature much longer. Hand temp is isolated and there is little transfer into the glass. I find the form of the Bodum glasses svelte, eye-pleasing, and conforms to most size hands. The result is making your drinking more pleasurable. The glass can get slick, it's like Pyrex, and so take care in handling. They are not cheap. Frankly, if affordability were no issue I'd like this scientific principle in all my drink and barware. For me, making high-quality luxury hot chocolate or a cold hard cider at a barbeque these glasses are worth the price of admission.

I usually insist on waiting a few months before I review anything, but in this case I will make an exception. These Pavina glasses have (1) the looks and (2) are very practical. I'm a practical person so looks is usually secondary for me. In this case, these glasses are beautiful. The clear double-wall is a stunning presentation. They just add to the kitchen, dining room or living room-wherever I have one. For practicality, they are great to hold (not too hot, just warm) and are the right size. They fit perfectly in my hand and I have average male hands. Genius in that they have this little pressure equalizer between the layers of glass. Yes, they are glass so I may eventually break one. It's a no-brainer; I will buy more with no hesitation. My coffee mugs just became obsolete.

We've bought a number of these Pavina double-walled glasses. They work well (keep the heat in longer than standard glasses), and we like the look. They are glass, however, so you can get tea stains (vinegar helps remove them), and they break if you drop them. [Old joke: How do you get a set of four perfect glasses? Start with eight.]

Love the product. Your coffee or tea stays hot longer (or cold), it's beautiful and it's a pleasure to drink from it. It's pretty fragile though. I had purchased 6 and 6 months after only 2 are left. A small crack appears you don't know how and expand eventually.

These are great for everything! Hot or cold, I can put them down anywhere, coaster free.
I use the glasses without handle for coffee. I get the warm feeling of a mug in your hand but it never feels hot (yet the coffee really stays hot),-- in fact, the warm glass feels great in your hand. Without handles, they fit better in the dishwasher and cabinets and I never have to worry about breaking the handle. Five stars for hot drinks.
I also use these glasses for iced G&T and other cocktails, ice water, and iced tea. Feels great in the hand, nicely cool but not cold. And your drink stays the temperature you want it, coaster free. Five stars for cold drinks.
The glass is high quality and feels like fine blown glass. Feel is just as important to me as visuals. And these look and feel great and elegant.
I am the careless type and have been using these for a while and I haven't broken one yet. I put in a crowded dishwasher all the time, even dropped on carpet. I wonder why folks think they are fragile-- is it the handle? Price is appropriate to the quality.

If you want to drink from a very stylish glass these are #1! Just be careful with them!

The first shipment had a shattered glass which I returned.

Not sure how well they are insulated for hot/cold liquids, but I didn't buy them for that. LOL!!

Hand wash and do Not put in a microwave.

Let's see how they hold up over the next year or two. For $15/glass they better last at least 5+ years!!

I have been using Bodum glasses for 10 years . I have Nespresso coffee pods which tend to produce strong coffee and I love that you can see the colour of coffee so creamer can be added to taste .
For arthritic fingers they are great , warm hands and easy to hold .
I have a large variety of mugs and glasses but these are my go to for a relaxing Nespresso brew !
