BA Textile Design

Everything you need to know

Your portfolio is an opportunity for you to showcase your skills, personality, and potential. It should be a collection of your work that demonstrates how you and your creativity has developed. It’s also an opportunity to make sure we have the right expertise and resource to support you during your time at University.

Although your digital portfolio will be unique to you, we suggest you to include the following elements:

What you should consider

Up to15 slides/pages showing us your work. Be selective, highlighting the pieces of work which you feel best showcase your skills, passion, and enthusiasm for Textile Design.

The work could include drawing, mixed media exploration, photography, life drawing, and digital experimentation.

One of the most important things to remember whilst preparing your portfolio is to fill it with passion, showing us your potential as a textile designer.

Try to also include evidence of your working process so we understand your ability to generate ideas – this could be a range of sketchbook pages on one slide so we can see your creative process.

What are we looking for?
