International Partners

To facilitate global engagement the School of Arts and Humanities has set up strategic partnerships with global institutions to provide student and staff exchange, joint and dual degrees, and collaborative research.

Curriculum

We provide a high quality global learning experience for our students. The foundations of this lie in our curriculum where we embed the internationalisation dimension into our modules looking across identities, cultures and languages. These international perspectives are vital to prepare our graduates to live in and contribute responsibly to a globally interconnected society. Student study global, inter-cultural and local perspectives working on projects with students from other international institutions, going on international field trips, and learning from visiting international academics and researchers.  Underpinning and feeding into our curriculum is the Schools internationally recognised, world-leading research with real local and global impact.

Study abroad

Here at the School of Arts and Humanities, we are committed to developing a culture of internationalisation. Spending time in another country is a great way to develop global graduates, by broadening horizons and equipping students with the skills that employers are looking for.

To help students develop global perspectives and intercultural experiences, we offer plenty of opportunities to internationalise learning while at NTU. All our undergraduate courses provide students with the chance to take an International Exchange Semester (IEP).

Incoming students

Students from outside the UK who are studying for a degree at one of our partner universities can study part of their degree within the School on our incoming international exchange programme. The exchange programme is designed for undergraduates, but we are also happy to explore opportunities for postgraduate students.

Globally connected

The School has strategic partnerships with a number of international partner institutions, collaborating as an international academic community. We deliver joint collaboration programmes leading to joint awards with the Communication University of China in Beijing, the Shanghai Culture, VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education in Vietnam and Creativity Centre and I-Shou University in Taiwan.

Staff mobility

For staff, we seek to offer development opportunities in new and exciting education models and landscapes, to enhance research networks and to support students, both ours and those of our partners. Our staff also take part in international visits, where they share their expertise with local universities and institutions. The NTU Global Strategic Partnership Fund allows our staff to develop their networks around the world and pursue research interests, with individual awards of up to £5,000 per project.

We aim to continue to grow and develop high quality, sustainable international partnerships. If you’re interested in exploring partnership or teaching collaboration opportunities please contact Andrew Plant.
