POCO F6 Pro è uno smartphone decisamente più a fuoco dei suoi diretti predecessori: il mantra dell'azienda cinese rimane quello di puntare forte sulle prestazioni, ma stavolta si nota una maggiore attenzione al design, alla scelta dei materiali e al comparto fotocamere, tre elementi che lasciavano un po' a desiderare nelle ultime uscite. Al costo di alcune tollerabili rinunce (su tutte l'assenza della ricarica wireless, il mancato supporto alle eSIM e una protezione dagli elementi molto basilare), POCO F6 Pro è un dispositivo capace di mettere sul piatto un'offerta hardware davvero ottima per il prezzo a cui viene proposto, anche se quest'ultimo non è più invitante come un tempo: un motivo che potrebbe legittimamente spingere qualcuno ad orientarsi su un flagship della scorsa stagione con uno street price ormai grossomodo equivalente.

Il prezzo scontato pari a 499 euro quindi sì, visto l'hardware e le prestazioni ci può stare anche se quello che vorrei da Poco, Xiaomi e anche brand come Oppo, OnePlus e Honor, è più anima e meno specifiche. I software cuciti intorno all'utente con funzioni AI davvero utili come quello dei Pixel o quello dei Galaxy di Samsung mi entusiasmano di più. Comunque, su tutto, lui convince a 360°, non ha particolari punti deboli ed è equilibrato. A questo punto sono molto curioso di provare F6, che a 389 euro con lo Snapdragon 8s Gen3 sembra davvero promettente.

Poco F6 Pro è disponibile in tre varianti: 12/256 GB, 12/512GBG e 16GB/1TB, con prezzi di listino rispettivamente di 579,90 €, 629,90 € e 699,90 €, ma si sa: con Poco il listino è solo un valore indicativo. Ed è bene così, visto che l’offerta lancio direttamente dallo shop ufficiale è succosissima. Si parte da 499,90 € per il taglio base (più che sufficiente per buona parte delle necessità) fino ai 599,90 € per la variante top. A metà strada (549,90) la versione con 12GB di RAM e 512GB di storage. Se consideriamo ciò che offre la concorrenza (e non parlo solo di specifiche tecniche, ma di esperienza d’uso, poiché ormai Xiaomi ha la stessa maturità dei competitors, sebbene la politica sugli aggiornamenti sia migliorabile) il prezzo è a fuoco e non ne rimpiangerete l’acquisto. Poco darà fastidio a moltissimi smartphone della fascia media sia con questo F6 Pro che con il fratellino F6, anch’egli dotato di una scheda tecnica interessante e che speriamo di portarvi presto sul sito.

Il prezzo di questo POCO F6 Pro è corretto. Non parliamo di un super affare ma neanche di un prezzo al day one eccessivo. I prezzi in offerta sono: 499€ per la 12/256GB, 549€ per la 12/512GB e 599€ per la 16GB/1TB. Lo sconto rispetto al listino è di 80€ per le versioni con 12GB di RAM e 100€ per la versione con 16GB di RAM. Seppur lo sconto maggiore sia sulla versione 16GB/1TB la reputo comunque quella meno a fuoco: il prezzo è valido ma difficilmente avrete bisogno di tutto quello storage non essendo un cameraphone e non avendo per esempio i RAW a disposizione, che occupano molto più spazio dei JPEG. Prendendo la versione 12/512GB, che potrebbe essere la più valida assieme a quella base, allo stesso prezzo ad oggi troviamo Pixel 8 e Galaxy S23. Entrambi questi smartphone hanno 8GB di RAM e 128GB di storage UFS 3.1, anzichè 4.0.

With a brilliant display, great speakers, ample storage options and a powerful chipset it delivers a truly premium gaming experience at a fraction of the cost of flagship devices. Compared to some of the competition, it’s the cameras that let this device down. This will never be the top choice for avid photo snappers, they’ll be far happier with something like the Pixel 8a. That said, the cameras here are way better than any gaming phone I’ve tried. So it all depends on what you’re comparing it to. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using the Poco F6 Pro. It’s fast, has a premium look and feel, games like a champ and charges incredibly quickly. The software won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I found it easy to live with. If you’re looking for a powerhouse that doesn’t break the bank, it’s an easy recommendation.

Also, the pixel-binning on its Sony sensor helps brighten up images where more detail is needed. We did wish it was as consistent as the Poco F6 Pro at shooting, though.

The Poco F6 Pro will be hitting the UK soon, from 499 GBP same as Google's handset. I've been using it as my phone for about a week now so here's my verdict! Yes, in some ways the Xiaomi Poco F6 Pro is as good or better than the Pixel 8a and many other mid-range phones. That 1440p screen is beautifully sharp, with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. Gamers will enjoy blazing through Genshin Impact and other quality titles, with Xiaomi's HyperOS gaming mode to help out. And the Poco F6 Pro's camera setup is also good, as long as you don't mind boosted photos with richer tones. You don't get a telephoto lens, but that quibble aside, you'll capture good looking pics and up to 8K video.

Now that we’ve talk about the technicalities of the POCO F6 Pro, let us now hop on to its pricing. Overall, the POCO F6 Pro stands out as a highly competitive phone. Honestly, it is hard to find any serious faults with the Poco F6 Pro. Sure, we would have loved to see a better ingress protection rating and perhaps expandable storage. Other than that, however, the Poco F6 Pro is an exquisite device all around. It has a premium build, an excellent display, great speakers and awesome charging speed. The decision to go for last year's premium Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, in particular, has been well placed. The chip still offers amazing performance. Plus, Xiaomi has done a great job with cooling and sustained performance as well. On top of that, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 offers excellent connectivity and flagship features. It should cost a bit less than the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship, and those savings are seemingly passed along to the end user. The Poco F6 Pro is an excellent device with few compromises and deserves our full-hearted recommendation.

Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm sostiene che è più veloce del 25% rispetto all'Adreno 730 dello Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 e i primi benchmark mostrano che la GPU è in grado di battere l'iGPU A16 di Apple (in precedenza la GPU più veloce per smartphone). 

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

SD 8 Gen 2:

SoC di fascia alta per smartphone presentato alla fine del 2022 con un veloce core principale basato su architettura ARM Cortex-X3 che funziona fino a 3,2 GHz. Altri due core ad alte prestazioni sono basati sull'A715 e supportano solo applicazioni a 64 bit. Anche gli altri due core A710 supportano applicazioni a 32 bit, così come i core Cortex-A510 a risparmio energetico. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC incorpora un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (per l'accelerazione AI) e un ISP Spectra. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta la memoria LPDDR5x veloce fino a 4200 MHz. Il 5G è incluso nel chip con il modem Snapdragon X70.
