The P.F. Chang's China Bistro restaurant at the Shops at Riverside Mall has been temporarily shut down by the Hackensack Fire Department due to an issue with their hood fire suppression system, according to a spokesperson for the city of Hackensack.

Attempts to reach P.F. Chang's were not immediately successful.

"P.F. Chang's was shut because their hood fire suppression system was out of service. Had a fire occurred in the cooking area there would have been no suppression system to control it," said the spokesperson. "As of now the plumbing inspector is waiting on them to complete the necessary paperwork for their permits, once that's done, they will be able to inspect what they need to inspect."

An "Order to Vacate" notice, dated July 2, could be seen on the P.F. Chang's restaurant at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack, N.J., on Friday, July 5, 2024.

The "Order to Vacate" notice posted on the door is dated July 2.

Per the city spokesperson, the fire department will be able to perform the final inspections on Tuesday, allowing the restaurant to reopen.

The Hackensack location is one of nine P.F. Chang's restaurants in New Jersey.
