Armed man, 79, who barricaded himself in home is arrested

A 79-year-old man armed with a weapon who barricaded himself inside a house in Clark early Wednesday has been arrested, authorities said.

Charges are pending against the man, Clark police said.

Police were called to the house on Stanton Street at about 12:30 a.m. after getting a report about shots fired.

When officers arrived the man refused to leave the house. A short time later the Union County SWAT team entered the residence and took the Clark resident into custody.
