Rams QB Matthew Stafford’s wife admits she had a ‘backup’ boyfriend. ‘It upset him’

Kelly Stafford

Kelly Stafford, wife of the Lions quarterback, has announced she has a brain tumor.

Rams quarterback Matt Stafford went to hell and back to end up with his wife, Kelly.

The last thing Matt thought would come out of his wife’s mouth during her appearance on “Touchdowns and Tumors,” did, and it’s salacious.

Apparently, Kelly, who had a brain tumor removed in 2019, two-timed Matt, her college sweetheart, during an early stage of their relationship. And not with some random guy, either.

“At first, I hated him,” Kelly said during the interview, via Sportskeeda. “I loved him (actually). I dated the backup (quarterback at UGA) to piss him off, which worked. He was the bad boy, too. Like, Matthew’s so sweet and Southern gentleman and all that stuff and the backup was the complete opposite. It upset him which it worked thankfully.”

The toxicity in relationships these days ...

But, sure, date a second man — the backup QB — to make the man you love, and who doesn’t want to commit to you, want you more.

No one could have gotten hurt or anything, right?

Luckily for Matt, he still made it to the NFL and has had a borderline Hall of Fame career, while Kelly got her man in the end.

A two-time Pro Bowler and the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2011, Stafford was traded to the Rams on March 18, 2021, in a deal that included Jared Goff and two first-round picks. He led them to a Super Bowl win over the Cincinnati Bengals less than one year later.

Kelly, whom Matt married in 2015 and has four daughters with, could be seen by Matt’s side after the game celebrating her husband’s win.
