Rutgers faces must-win opener as start of college football season arrives (PODCAST)

College football is back.

The 2023 season officially kicked off this Saturday with Week 0 action across the country, previewing the sport’s grand opening next weekend. That includes Rutgers’ crucial season opener against Northwestern on Sunday, a contest that the Scarlet Knights practically must win to keep any hopes of a bowl game alive.

The Rutgers Rant discusses the importance of the meeting with the dysfunctional and downtrodden Wildcats, the outlook for quarterback Gavin Wimsatt and the Scarlet Knights coming out of training camp and some interesting comments from head coach Greg Schiano to NJ Advance Media. We also touch on basketball recruit Dylan Harper’s decision timeline, olympic sports and the Messi Mania that took over Red Bull Arena.
