An Easton, Pennsylvania, man has died in a chain of events along Interstate 78 after his motorcycle struck a car and then he was struck by oncoming traffic in Warren County, state police said.

New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron told lehighvalleylive.com the collision just after 10 p.m. Tuesday began along I-78 at mile marker 5.1 in Greenwich Township. The 45-year-old motorcyclist and the driver of a 2017 Toyota Camry were both headed east when the motorcycle struck the back of the Toyota, Lebron said.

The motorcyclist was then ejected from the BMW bike prior to being struck by an oncoming 2020 Toyota Camry, Lebron said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. The identity of the deceased is being withheld by authorities until family is notified.

The driver of the 2017 Toyota Camry suffered minor injuries. There were no other reported injuries.

Tuesday’s crash remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police.
