There’s nothing like a nasty sunburn to ruin the perfect beach day, but don’t count on using tents or canopies to escape the sun at 23 of Jersey Shore beaches that have enacted bans or restrictions.

The reasons are varied, with some citing too-small beaches, others saying the giant tents block others view of the water, and at least one beach saying its too hard to evacuate when lightning hits.
